The journey also includes a great visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, where you will see Nepal's incredible culture and enigmatic history. One of the key highlights is the famed Kasthamandap Temple, renowned for being constructed through a single tree. From there, you will explore the home of the living Goddess, Kumari, before going to Swoyambhunath Stupa, one of the greatest Nepal's oldest and most famed shrines. Known as the "Monkey Temple," Swoyambhunath also gives a 360-degree view of the Kathmandu Valley and is listed as an elite UNESCO World Heritage site.
After lunch, the tour starts with a great visit to the Pashupatinath Temple. On this sacred Hindu site, non-Hindus can see and witness the temple's surroundings and the many shrines around the Bagmati River. The final stop is the Boudhanath Stupa, the largest in Nepal and a major centre for acceptable Tibetan Buddhism. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a great place to rest with a cup of Tibetan tea, explore local shops for several souvenirs, and absorb the calm atmosphere of this spiritual centre.
We start our day with a hot beverage as we first head to Bhaktapur city. This is a popular tourist spot in Kathmandu because of the serene cultural setting it has. You get the opportunity to enjoy the architecture and art forms here. From amazing pottery to stone and wood carvings, Bhaktapur has it all. The significant places in Bhaktapur that should not be missed include Nyatapola temple the national art gallery along with the fifty-five windows’ palace.
After Bhaktapur tour, we get lunch and head to Patan, also called Lalitpur. Patan is a major cultural hub in Kathmandu valley which is filled with amazing architectures, art, and religious spots. You get to explore the Krishna temple here and study the sculptures in the square present here. We get back to the hotel after having a wonderful time exploring these places.
On this day, you will be provided with the wonderful opportunity to observe the folks of Kathmandu closely. The Newar people have inhabited Kathmandu for centuries and we can witness their amazing culture as well as tradition here in Kathmandu valley.
We reach a small town named Pharping, six kilometres away from the valley; this place is popular for its rich culture and unique lifestyle with scenic natural beauty. We can find a monastery here; it is believed that the Guru Rinpoche meditated here. Pharping is the entry point to the popular Hindu temple named Dakshinkali. We can go to CHovar gorge and the Manjushree park here.
We move to the historically significant Kirtipur now where we can see Newari neighbourhoods; we can taste the local cuisines and explore the age-old architecture. We can go visit the Bagh Bhairab Temple here.
We move to Gunmati and Khokana villages after having a great time at Kiritpur. The village tour is perfect for you to know about the lifestyle and history of ancient Nepal. The lifestyle here remains unchanged even after so much time has passed. There is a large population of Newars here. The monuments are preserved by the locals and we can witness husbandry and farming techniques here. This village is famous for authentic handmade garments as well as local mustard production. You will have a great time here away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
