Khopra Poon Hill trekking takes you to the unspoiled location in the lap of Annapurna region. You will get the opportunity to enjoy all the aspects of a typical trekking route of Nepal in this journey. This trekking trail takes you on an exciting adventure following the hills of Nepal where you can savor the picturesque views, varied vegetation, and wildlife, diverse landscape, lifestyle, and cultural traditions. Khopra Poon Hill trekking is even considered as an alternative to the Ghorepani trek by people. It has to offer impressive views of the Annapurna massifs. This is a relatively new route for trekking where you will get to connect to nature even better.
 

This amazing trekking journey starts from the city of lakes, Pokhara after which we proceed to the Birethati village from Nayapul, a beautiful place at the convergence of Bhurungdi and Modi rivers. We follow the Modi river through lush green jungles, picturesque waterfalls, and majestic mountain views. You will be amazed to see diverse vegetations comprising of pine, rhododendron, oaks, and bamboos along with different communities and snowy peaks.

DAY 1

Reach Kathmandu (1350 meters)

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will also be received by our great representative at the renowned Tribhuvan airport and transferred to the hotel for your full stay. After you take a break and also get refreshed, you can also join members of the group heading at the Grand Khopra Ridge and Poon Hill trek with you for less briefing on the journey. You can put forward your queries to the trek leader during this time. A fun dinner program awaits you at an authentic restaurant alongside the cultural show.

DAY 2

Kathmandu Sightseeing tour

You will depart from your hotel in the morning for the Kathmandu sightseeing tour around the places which have significant cultural, religious and historical importance like the major stupas, temples, monasteries all included in the World Heritage Sites list of UNESCO. You will get time to prepare for Khopra Ridge and Poon Hill trek in the afternoon.

DAY 3

Drive to Pokhara

Early morning we leave for Pokhara where we will get to see amazing landscape and lifestyle throughout the journey. After we reach Pokhara after our six hours drive, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can take a break and get refreshed. We will go to stroll around the lakeside afterward. (You have the options to fly from Kathmandu-Pokhara) Overnight stay in Pokhara.

DAY 4

Pokhara-Kyumi (via drive); then trek to Ghandruk (1940 meters)

After a hearty breakfast in the morning, w drive from Pokhara to reach the Kyumi farm village; we will get to see amazing views of Annapurna on our way here. We then ascend on stone steps to reach the big Gurung village of Ghandruk. We stay at Ghandruk in a wonderful lodge that offers majestic views of Annapurna peaks offering the time to explore the village surrounding.

DAY 5

Head to Tadapani (2630 meters)

On this day, we head to Tadapani from Ghandruk as we walk through farm villages enjoying views of Annapurna and then ascending a place named Bhainse Kharka. We move through dense rhododendron forests with pine and oak trees to reach Tadapani which has to offer views of Mt. Fish Tail and the Annapurna South.

DAY 6

Head To Dobato (3349 meters)

After having breakfast, we head to Dobato as we move across the secret paths away from the main route and village for a few days. We ascend to a forested area to land in Dobato, a serene place in the center of the lush green forest.

DAY 7

Move to Bayeli (3437 meters) and hike around Hidden Lake (4372 meters)

We walk through dense jungles past summer settlements with several ascends and descends after which we reach the secluded spot at Bayeli, a pasture area. We then head to the small glacial and pristine Hidden Lake. We stay overnight in this peaceful environment relishing the views of snowy mountain peaks.

DAY 8

Trek to Khopra Hill (3660 meters)

As we leave Bayeli, we reach Khopra ridge after we walk for a few hours. We will stay here overnight savoring the views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna Fang, and Annapurna South.

DAY 9

Hike to Khayer Lake (4620 meters)

On this day, we have a morning hike to the holy lake of Khayer located at 4620 meters. This is a long walk but it is worth all the hardship as it offers to close up views of majestic peaks. This a religious site where the festival is organized annually in the month of August and September. After exploring this area where villagers come to worship, take a bath in the icy water and do sacrifices, we return back to Khopra ridge for overnight stay.

DAY 10

Head to Sauta (2200 meters)

After having a great time in Khayer lake and Khopra, we head to Sauta by trekking through green forests by descending. Sauta is occupied by the Poon-Magar people who are the tribes of the Western Nepalese Hills. We will get to see the Dhaulagiri range along with the tips of Annapurna peaks in the northeast direction.

DAY 11

Head to Ghorepani (2874 meters) en route Chitre

We head on a gradual way down to a stream where a short climb takes us to Chitre village. From here, with some steep ascends for few hours into the alpine woods with rhododendron and pine trees, w reach at the beautiful Ghorepani village facing the Dhaulagiri range.

DAY 12

Hike to Poon Hill (3210 meters) and head to Tirkhedhunga (1450 meters)

We go on a morning hike to Poon Hill to witness the amazing sunrise over the Himalayas with Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, and Ganesh Himal. After savoring the beautiful mountains and sunrise, we head back to Ghorepani and follow rhododendron forest to reach Ulleri village; after this, we descend to Tirkhedhunga for overnight stay.

DAY 13

Head to Bhirethati and drive to Pokhara

On this day, we walk to the beautiful village Bhirethati where our trekking journey comes to an end. Now we drive back to Pokhara as the drive takes us to Beni and Pokhara Highway. After the fun exciting drive to Pokhara, you will be transferred to the hotel and after getting refreshed, you can stroll around lakeside if time allows. Overnight stay at Pokhara.

DAY 14

Drive or fly to Kathmandu (6 hours via the drive and 30 minutes via flight)

On this fateful 14-day, you will take all the roads back to the city of  Kathmandu after your incredible trekking journey at the fine Khopra Poon Hill trek. Upon arrival at Kathmandu by car or flight, you will be transferred to your designated hotel. You will have leisure time for individual activities. You have the choice to go either by drive or flight.

DAY 15

Bid farewell to Nepal

This is your final day in Nepal. You will be transferred to the hotel from where you will leave for your next trip or back to your home country.
