This trail provides you the chance to immerse in the natural surroundings of the Everest region with its breathtaking terrains, landscapes, and majestic mountains. Also, you will get to study the Sherpa culture and lifestyle as you get to interact with the local Sherpa community very closely. Along with the rich culture of this region, you will get to witness the diverse flora and fauna of this zone and lush green forests. The journey starts from the cultural hub Kathmandu as you explore the different places of cultural and historical importance. This trekking route is apt for people who are short of time and want to explore the scenic beauty of the Everest region. The favorable seasons include March-May and Mid September-December.

DAY 1

Reach Kathmandu (1350 meters)

You will be picked up by our hardworking representative at Tribhuvan airport through the Trekking Planner Nepal and will be transferred to the assigned hotel upon your arrival. After taking a break a few times, you can also stroll around the nearby areas if you feel like doing so and if time permits you. You will also be taken for a cultural dinner in the evening, where you can also eat and savour the local cuisines and enjoy the great hospitality of the hotel staff. Overnight stays will be made at the nearby hotel.

DAY 2

Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu

The day begins with a great sightseeing tour in the happening city of Kathmandu, exploring the great cultural and historical monuments, all of which are also listed in the great UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The tour takes you to the legendary Durbar Squares, an architectural greatness that provides a great glimpse at Nepal’s glorious and famed past. Next, you will visit the incomparable and great Buddhist icon place, Swayambhunath, popularly known as the Monkey Temple, a great hilltop stupa that offers great panoramic views of the city and its surroundings. 

This sacred site also has colorful prayer flags and great carvings, which reflect the rich Buddhist heritage of the whole region.

After this you will also head until the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, one of the greatest Hindu pilgrimage sites, where all primeval rites as well as rituals and spirituality fulfulliness. The final stop is at the famed Buddhist stupa, Boudhanath, one of the biggest stupas in the world, showing peace in the hectic schedule of Kathmandu.

In the afternoon time, you will also have the great meeting with your trekking guide to discuss the full details at your great trek. This session is the opportunity through familiarize yourself with the trekking itinerary and ensure all your queries are properly known and addressed.

It’s also a chance to review and finalize any preparations needed for the whole trek, from equipment checks to tips for rest. After this productive meeting, you can also relax and prepare for the great adventure ahead. The day ends with a fine overnight stay at the comfortable hotel in Kathmandu, providing the perfect balance of cultural oneness and preparation for your trekking journey.

DAY 3

Head to Lukla by flight (2828 meters) and then trek to Phakding (2780 meters) which will take around 3/ 4 hours

On this fateful third day, we will go on our great trekking journey, first going through the state of Lukla and then trekking in rural Phakding. You will also be transferred to the closest airport early in the morning, from where you will fly to the state of Lukla, which is about 35 minutes around. We will walk for three hours till we reach Phakding town, which has ups and downs at the ever flowing river Dudh Koshi. 

We will get to see the beautiful Nubur Himal and Phari Peak. We first reach the Thado Koshi village, which provides a picturesque view of Kusum Kangaru Peak. We follow the Dudh Koshi River and walk past many suspension bridges, prayer wheels, and many settlements to reach the settlement of Phakding. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Phakding.

DAY 4

Move to Namche Bazar (3440 meters)

After breakfast, we move along the bank of Dudh Koshi river as we head to our next destination, that is Namche Bazar. We enter Monjo, the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park where we get our permits inspected after which we cross the village, Jorsale to reach Larja Dobhan; from Larja Dobhan we climb the steep trail as we witness the majestic view of Namche Bazar; the gateway to Everest zone and the very first view of Mt. Everest. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Namche.

DAY 5

Break at Namche Bazar

On this day, we rest and take a break for acclimatization in Namche Bazar. The colorful village of Namche is popular for its wonderful shops and vendors, tasty food and amazing views of the mountain peaks.
With an early hike above the town, we will be rewarded with majestic views of Himalayan sunrise and the views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, the gorgeous Ama Dablam and so on. We will visit the Sherpa Museum which has to offer the traditional culture, lifestyle, and culture of Sherpas along with the local plants and animals, on our way down. Overnight stay at a teahouse.

DAY 6

Head to Tengboche (3850 meters, around five hours walk)

On this day, we head to the monastery of Tengboche. Now the elevation will increase gradually as we move. We first trek to the Sansa village as we walk past the views of Ama Dablam, Taboche, Kang Taiga and Lhotse Shar. We then reach Ohunke Tenga as we cross a suspension bridge.

We cross lush green forests with rhododendron, magnolia, fir and pine trees to reach Tengboche. The famous festival Mani Rimdu is observed in the biggest monastery of Khumbu region, located in Tengboche. What is interesting about this monastery is the twenty-foot statue of Lord Buddha and the folk music instrument of Lamas, the Buddhist priest who is sometimes seen performing with it. We will visit this place in the evening and enjoy the mesmerizing mountain vista. Overnight stay in Tengboche.

DAY 7

Trek to Khumjung (3753 meters, around five hours walk)

On this day, we enter into the next phase of our trekking journey as we go back to Sansa village and head to Khumjung valley.  After a few hours of downhill climb, we reach Sansa village which has a trail junction for Namche, Gokyo, and Khumjung.  We head to the Khumjung village which is believed to be the favorite village of the legendary Sir Edmund Hillary.  W will savor the peaceful surrounding and the amazing views throughout the trail. 

Khumjung is a tiny village with a monastery popular for hosting the skull of Yeti.  Also, there is a school built by Edmund Hillary Foundation here.  Overnight stay in Khumjung. 

DAY 8

Head to Monjo (2835 meters, around five hours walk)

Now, we trek down to Monjo village as we descend to the Khunde village; this village hosts the only village in the whole Khumbu area. We have a short ascend uphill to the ridge in Syangboche airstrip. We move downhill to the Dudh Koshi riverbed where we have an aerial view of Namche area.

We head to Monjo where we stay overnight. Monjo is the official gateway for entering and getting out of Sagarmatha National Park.

DAY 9

Monjo-Lukla (2828 meters, around five hours)

This is the final trekking phase around the Everest area where Lukla is the destination for the day. We move through the Uche Chholing Monastery and cross some suspension bridges to reach Benkar village, the junction to Thame and Namche villages.

We reach warmer and more alpine vegetation-climate now. W walk past several waterfalls, suspension bridges, and small settlements as we follow the Dudh Koshi river to reach Lukla. We stay overnight at Lukla.

DAY 10

Return Kathmandu (1350 meters)

In the early morning, you go on and take a board and flight back unto the city of Kathmandu, enjoying the fine views one very last time. Upon arrival through the great Kathmandu airport, you will also transfer at your hotel, where you can also rest and unwind through your journey.

Later on the same day, you can also explore through the great streets of Thamel, indulge in shopping, or simply go through its lively places. The day finishes with an overnight stay at your hotel in around Kathmandu, marking the fine end of a great adventure.

DAY 11

Departure from Kathmandu airport

Your journey has come to an end. Now you will be transferred to Kathmandu airport by our representatives, from here you either had to your next destination or return to your native land.
