The Everest Base Camp Trekking is a short trek designed for people who love trekking and would enjoy a short journey surrounded by the beautiful Himalayas. This trek offers you the opportunity to reach the base of the globe's tallest mountain, that is Mt. Everest (8848 meters). This trek sets you out on an adventurous journey for which you need to be prepared both mentally as well as physically.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you are going to feel close to the natural environment. This journey is going to feel as good as a therapy to your spirit, which has been dispirited by the everyday hassles and stress. You are going to make a lot of memories on this journey as you move through dense, green forests, rocky trails, witness different floras and faunas, panoramic view of tall, snow-clad mountains and whatnot. You will get the chance to see the local culture and lifestyle. If you are wondering if this short journey decreases the overall fun, it does not; it shortens the time while increases the thrill.
Expand Details Collapse DetailsYou will be picked up and dropped at your hotel from the airport upon your arrival by our representative. You will be briefed about the details of the trek. If time permits, you will be taken on a tour to Kathmandu Durbar Square and the Ason market. Stay at the hotel overnight; you will be provided with breakfast.
After having breakfast early in the morning, you will be taken to the airport from where you will receive a flight to Lukla (30 minutes). After meeting the trekking staff, we will commence our trekking journey to Phakding (3 hours). There is a chance of getting the flight delayed due to certain circumstances even during October, November, March and April so kindly be prepared for such event.
If the flight is on time, we will reach Phakding for lunch, and we can stop for tea or coffee on the way. In case of delay, we will have lunch in Lukla or after an hour of trekking around Lukla. Overnight at the guest house, including the three main meals.
After having breakfast around seven in the morning, we commence our trek for the second day en route Phakding village and the local market. We cross the iron bridge above Dudh Koshi River. We will arrive at Manjo and Jorsali after a couple of hours, and we stop for lunch. We register our trek permits in Jorsali where there is Sagarmatha National Park office; then we enter into Sagarmatha zone.
The trail descends for ten minutes as we follow the Dudh Koshi river, after this, the trail ascends till we reach a high bridge over Bhote Koshi river. We reach Namche Bazar after six hours walk. Overnight at a guesthouse, includes breakfast, lunch as well as dinner.
Given that we have reached a high altitude, we will stay in Namche for two nights by hiking to a higher elevation in the day and sleeping in lower
height. After breakfast, we will go for a short hike to Syangboche, Khungde(3840 meters), Khumjung (3780 meters, 3 to 4 hours). We will also go to Sagarmatha National park museum. Then, we will watch the majestic views of Himalayan ranges like Amadablam, Kusum Kangaru, Lhotse, Thamserku, and Mount Everest. Overnight at Guest House, includes breakfast, lunch & dinner.
On this day, we will walk for five to six hours. We will reach Khyangjuma (3550 meters) after one hour of walking where we can see Mt. Ama Dablam very well. Then the trail descends to the place named Sanasa, and we reach Phunki Tenga (3150 meters, one hour and thirty minutes). We eat lunch here. We reach Tengboche after walking for a couple of hours. Here we will visit the Tengboche monastery and watch Mt. Everest and Amadablam. Overnight at guesthouse, includes the three main meals.
We take breakfast at 7 am and start our trek around 8. We arrive at Deboche (3820 meters) after walking for 20 minutes through pine and rhododendron forests. After crossing the Imja river and climbing uphill for 1 hour, we reach Pangboche (3930 meters). We have lunch here. We visit the Pangboche monastery, the oldest Gompa of Khumbu and continue our trek after lunch gradually ascending beside the Imja river. After walking for an hour, we reach the main trail junction(4175 meters). The left trail takes us to Pheriche and the right on leads us to Dingboche. We ascend to Dingboche (one hour) by crossing the Imja river. Overnight at guesthouse, includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We stay in Dingboche valley for acclimatisation as we are now at the height of 4410 meters. Some common symptoms of high altitude, you could be feeling is of headache and appetite loss. So spend two nights here by hiking to a higher altitude and spending the night here.
There are two alternatives for day hiking; one is to go to Chhukung Ri (5546 meters) and the second one is Nagarjuna Hill (5000 meters). Overnight at the guesthouse which includes the three main meals.
Beneath the fantastic peaks of Tawache and Cholas, we do a steep climb to the foot of the Glacier, Khumbu. We will have lunch at Duglha. There are many stone cairns set up as memorials to the deceased Sherpas who lost their lives while ascending the Mt. Everest. The path then follows the glacier to reach Lobuche. Overnight at guesthouses, includes breakfast, dinner, and lunch.
We leave early in the morning as to savour the views of beautiful mountains, and we stop at Gorak Shep for lunch. We head to Everest Base Camp (5400 meters) at noon and return to Gorak Shep to spend the night. The overnights stay includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We hike to Kalapathar (5545 meters) first thing in the morning to observe the panoramic views of Mt. Everest and many other mountains. After getting back to Kalapathar, the trek moves downhill. We reach the Himalayan Rescue Association, a trekker’s aid post as we descend to Duglha and Pheriche. Overnight at a guesthouse and includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We head to Pangboche village as we cross the Khumbu river by a wooden bridge following Imja Khola after a hearty breakfast. We reach Tengboche. We descend from Tengboche and head to Phunki Tenga where we get to see water driven prayer wheels before we move to Namche. Overnight at Namche at a local guesthouse, includes breakfast lunch and dinner.
This the final day of trekking where we head to Lukla following the Dudh Koshi river. We will have a small celebration alongside all the trekking crew. We will taste some locally brewed mountain beer and try Sherpa dance steps which are going to be fun. Overnight at guesthouse, includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We get a flight back to Kathmandu on this day; you can do all that you please to in the leisure time you get in Kathmandu. You can go for shopping and buy souvenirs if you like. You can stroll around Thamel. Overnight at hotel, includes breakfast.
Break-in Kathmandu; this is an extra day for any flight delays in Lukla as a result of bad weather); Sightseeing tour can be done on this day in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel, inclusive of breakfast.
We will transfer you to the airport for your flight back to your home country.
