Beginning at the busy town of Lukla, the journey also follows the classic Everest Base Camp trail, going through the Sherpa villages, lush-driven forests, and high-altitude valleys. Along the way, trekkers also have the opportunity to visit famous landmarks like Namche Bazaar, an excellent hub for culture and commerce, and the calm Tengboche Monastery, renowned for its great views and spiritual importance. The trek also passes all the charming villages of the Dingboche and Lobuche, allowing trekkers to immerse themselves in the local culture and hospitality.

The highlight of this trek is crossing for the Chola Pass, a challenging ascent that sees both physical stamina and mental strength. The steep and rugged terrain rewards all those who make it with great views of iconic peaks such as Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse, creating a great experience that is hard to find. Typically, the ideal times to embark on this trek are during the autumn and spring, as the weather is also stable; however, trekking during the monsoon season in June, July, and August can also present difficulties with the muddy trails and unknown conditions.

DAY 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

  • Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport:
    Greeted and escorted to hotel.
    Check-in and refreshments provided by senior guide.
    Brief overview of Chola Pass Trek.
    Local area stroll, dinner, and relaxation.
  • Overnight stay at hotel, including morning breakfast.

DAY 2

Fly to Lukla and then trek to Phakding (2,652m)

  • Flight to Lukla and landing on challenging mountain runway.
    Meeting with team.
    Uphilling of Dudh Kosi Valley.
    Overnight stay in Phakding with full board meals.

DAY 3

Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) (6 hours walk)

  • Depart for Namche after a Breakfast in Phakding followed by crossing the river twice on suspension bridges.
    Access to Sagarmatha National Park beyond Monjo.
    Hike steeply to Namche, a trading settlement.
    Visit to Mount Everest in clear sky.
    Namche hosts a bustling Saturday market for Tibetan yak caravans and Hindu traders.
    Night at Namche, with full food provided.

DAY 4

Acclimatization Day (3,440m)

  • Day to adjust altitude before heading towards Syangboche.
  • Visit Sir Edmund Hillary-established Khunde Hospital for acclimatization.
  • Hike to Everest View Hotel for sunset views.
  • Travel to Khumjung and stop at Hillary-founded school.
  • Start journey, avoid Khimde trail.
  • Visit National Park Centre and Museum for views.
  • Lodge for beers and restful night's sleep.
    Namche overnight with full board meals

DAY 5

Trek to Tengboche (3,860m) (5 hrs walk)

  • Breakfast in Namche.
  • Trek towards Tengboche, with stunning views of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku.
  • Gradual trail with few ups and downs.
  • Opportunity to spot wild life like pheasant, musk deer, or Himalayan Thar.
  • Gradual descent to Kyangjuma.
  • Reaching Sanasa, major trail junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp.
  • Continue through pine forests to Phunki Tenga, a small settlement with teahouses and army post.
  • Steep climb to Tengboche, home to the biggest Buddhist Monastery in Khumbu region.
  • Overnight stay at Tengboche lodge with all meals covered.

DAY 6

Trek to Dingboche (4,410m) (5 hours walk)

  • Returns to Lukla with Dudh Kosi 
    Wonderful farewell celebration with porters and Sherpa guides: samples of the local mountain beer, "Chhang."
    Take part in the Sherpa dance.
    Enjoys a delicious supper while thinking back on their hiking adventures.
    Includes dinners served all day on full board.

DAY 7

Rest day at Dingboche (4,410m)

  • Acclimatization and Exploration
    Visit to a lake, Tshola Tsho, Cholatse and Tawache walls.
    Climbing ridge overlooking Dingboche for views of Imja Valley and Mt. Lhotse's south face.
    Accommodation in Dingboche village, including all meals.

DAY 8

Trek to Lobuche (4,910m) (5 hours walk)

  • Climbing beneath Cholatse and Tawache peaks.
    Steep climb towards Khumbu Glacier foot.
    Lunch at Duglha tea house.
    Trail zigzags through glacier's terminal moraine boulders.
    Visit of stone cairns as memorials to Sherpas.
    Gentle glacier climb to Lobuche houses.
    Full board meals and good night's sleep.

DAY 9

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m) then to Gorakshep (5,180m) (8 hours walk)

  • Breakfast at lodge followed by meadow and moraine stone steps.
    Option to climb to Kala Patthar or continue to Everest base camp.
    Be sure to visit Everest base camp for stunning views of Mount Everest and nearby peaks.
    Overnight at lodge (5,364) with all three meals included.

DAY 10

Early morning hike to Kalapathar (5,545m) then trek to Dzongla (4,830m) ( 7 hours walk)

  • Early start required for trail traversing ice pinnacles and Khumbu Glacier crevasses.
    Pauses at numerous viewpoints for photo capturing.
    Scramble to reach Kalapathar, then climb rocky outcrop near summit marked by cairns and prayer flags.
    Enjoy breathtaking Himalayan Panorama from top to bottom.
    Option to take a higher route for Khumbu icefall view and South Col route.
    Return to Dzongla for night with full board meals.

DAY 11

Trek to Thangna (4,700m) by crossing Cho La pass (5,420m) (7 hours walk)

  • Arriving at the lodge and seeing Cholatse at sunrise.
    Starting at Dzongla, the hike takes a spur westward to a basin with a stream covered in ice.
    After an hour or so,  reach the top of the basin and start their journey to Cho La Pass.
    There are several stones that need to be scrambled over on this difficult and steep ascent.
    The descent but treacherous path to Thangnak is blocked by ice-glazed rocks.
    Full board meals are included in the accommodations at Thangnak, a sizable hamlet with a sizeable village.

DAY 12

Trek to Gokyo (4,750m) (3 hours walk)

  • Travel to Ngozumpa Glacier
    Short stroll to Ngozumpa, Nepal's longest glacier.
    views of the third and second Gokyo lakes.
    Gokyo Village is a rest stop near the lake.
    Spend the night at Gokyo Village with full board meals.

DAY 13

Explore Gokyo Ri (5,360m)

  • Visit to Gokyo Village for a peaceful day and beautiful scenery.
    For breathtaking views of the Everest Region, ascend Gokyo Ri.
    Discover the Thonak Tsho Lake (the fourth lake) and Ngozuma Thso Lake (the fifth lake) among the six emerald lakes.
    For breathtaking views of Mt. Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu, ascend the hill.
    visit Cho-Oyu Base Camp for a closer look at Mt. Cho Oyu and Gyachung Kang.
    From the northern portion of the fifth lake, explore the Ngazumpa Glacier.
    Consider to visit the sixth lake.
    Go back to Gokyo village and spend the night at a lodge where meals are included.

DAY 14

Trek to Dole (4,084m) (6 hours walk)

  • Ascend to Chorten on a mountain and down from Khumbu's patron deity, Khumbila.
    Stops close to Phortse village at Dudh Kosi for lunch.
    Passes through Phortse Tenga before making a sharp ascent to Dole.
    Explores woodlands of birch and rhododendron.
    Spend the night at lodge with full board meals

DAY 15

Trek to Namche (3,440m) (6 hours walk)

  • Along the river and ascends to the Thyangboche monastery through a woodland of birch and rhododendron.
    Enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayan behemoths, including Kantega, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kwangde, and Tawache.
    Departs Thyangboche and crosses the Dudh Kosi on the Phunki Tenga bridge, which is decorated with prayer wheels that are powered by water.
    Return to Namche to take a hot spring soak.
    Stay the night in Namche and enjoy full board meals.

DAY 16

Trek back to Lukla (2,800m) (7 hours walk)

  • Returns to Lukla with Dudh Kosi 
    Wonderful farewell celebration with porters and Sherpa guides: samples of the local mountain beer, "Chhang."
    Take part in the Sherpa dance.
    Enjoys a delicious supper while thinking back on their hiking adventures.
    Includes dinners served all day on full board.

DAY 17

Fly back to Kathmandu (1400m)

  • Scheduled for an early morning to prevent severe winds.
    Scenic 45 min flight.
    Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to a hotel.
    Flight delays can be brought on by bad weather and unforeseen circumstances.
    Breakfast and dinner are included with meals.

DAY 18

Departure Day

  • Vehicle and escorts will be on standby for international airport drop-off.
    Prayers for a safe journey and remembrance on our shared experiences.
    Meal includes morning breakfast.
