DAY 1

Arrive Kathmandu (1400 meters)

Upon your arrival to Kathmandu, w will be picked up by our representative at Ammonite Adventure and escorted to the hotel of your stay. Based on when you arrive, you can take rest and go explore the streets of Thamel as you please. Note that transportation till hotel is included in the package but an optional tip is not covered. No meals are covered. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 2

Sightseeing tour at Kathmandu

Upon the hearty breakfast, your guide will take you through the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu's great attractions. Visit the fine, sacred Pashupatinath Temple near the Bagmati River, where non-Hindus can also see and explore the surrounding areas. Explore the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, home to great art and architectural marvels such as Nyatapola Temple, the Palace of 55 Windows, and the revered Bhairavnath Temple. Discover the calm Boudhanath Stupa, a respected site for the great Buddhist pilgrims spinning prayer wheels and offering fruitful prayers. Spend the rest of your day at the great Kathmandu, shopping on the streets of Thamel, or preparing for your trek. Enjoy the overnight stay at the hotel with OK breakfast included. 

DAY 3

head to Pokhara via drive

Our representative from Ammonite adventure will receive you at the hotel and take you to the bus which takes you to Pokhara; this is going to be a seven hours’ scenic drive. The bus is going to stop for food and bathroom needs once in a while. You can stock up on water on this journey and hot food is available throughout.

You have the option to take a twenty minutes’ scenic flight to Pokhara if you want to. The cost of tickets is $110 per individual usually (without markup). The prices vary and we should check the availability as well.

DAY 4

Drive till Nayapul and trek till Tikhedhunga

You will be taken to Nayapul (1010 meters) via taxi and then we follow the Modi Khola for fifteen minutes to reach Birethanti (1015 meters) which is a big village with several teahouse and shops.

We follow the ABC trail and walk along the Bhrungdi Khola and then climb uphill to reach Hile (1430 meters). We climb again for some time to reach Tikhedhunga (1540 meters)

DAY 5

Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

We climb up along a steep path to get to Ulleri (1960 meters) and then walk through lush green rhododendron and jungle to Banthanti (2210 meters). We walk past Nayathanti (2430 meters) and then walk for an hour to reach Ghorepani (2860 meters).

DAY 6

Ghorepani to Poonhil and then to Tadapani

DAY 7

Head to Chomrong

We move north-east as we move ahead to Chomrong (2170 meters). We head downhill and pass through beautiful rhododendron forest on our way.

DAY 8

Head to Himalaya hotel

We move along the Chomrong Khola which we cross by a suspension bridge. We move ahead to Khuldighar (2540 meters) where we find the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACAP) visitor center. After clearing, we move ahead on a steep path which levels out later.

We pass the Avalanche Chutes which is on the north side of Bamboo and to the south of Dobhan. After crossing Dobhan, we further cross the Baraha temple and then finally reach Himalaya hotel which is at an altitude of 2920 meters.

DAY 9

Move to Machapuchhre Base Camp

We walk past rhododendron forest following the Modi river to reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp at 3700 meters. We stop at Hinku cave which used to be a site for camp and supply depot for Annapurna I expeditions before.

Note that MBC is not a base camp because climbing Machhapuchhre is not allowed.

DAY 10

Day for rest and acclimatization

To avoid Acute Mountain Sickness, we need to spend at least twenty-four hours at MBC with Annapurna base camp just half a kilometer ahead. The quick elevation can get risky so we stop here.

DAY 11

Scale Annapurna Base Camp

We start early to ascend to reach ABC (4130 meters). The trekking journey today is going to be strenuous and challenging but it will be worth the effort and time. Note that you could experience minor AMS effects.

DAY 12

ABC to Bamboo

We descend to Bamboo early and the walk downhill is going to be fast and easy relative to climbing uphill.

DAY 13

Bamboo to Jhinu

We walk along the same old trail to reach Chomrong. We witness an experimental sheep farm as we pass Khuldighar. W walk through bamboo fields and rhododendron forest and then descend a steep path to reach Jhinu where we can take bath in natural hot springs and just relax.

DAY 14

Drive back to Pokhara from Nayapul

We move along the Modi Khola on the right side for around four and a half hours to get to Birethanti. We reach Nayapul from there and drive back to Pokhara.

After checking into the hotel, we stroll around Pokhara and go on a boating trip to the popular Barahi temple which is situated on a small island around the lake. You have the choice to just rest instead of this guided tour.

DAY 15

Sightseeing tour at Pokhara

After a hearty breakfast, we move out for a guided sightseeing tour in the city of lakes. An experienced city guide will accompany you and you will have the tour using a private vehicle. You will visit the major attractions of Pokhara including Davis fall, Gupteswor cave, Bindhabasnini temple, Tibetan refugee camps, World Peace Pagoda, Bindhabasni temple and Seti river gorges

The Bindhabasini temple is the main center for the old religious bazaar and this temple is revered by Hindus because of its dedication to goddess Bhagwati who is believed to be a manifestation of Shakti. The area around this temple has a fine picnic spot.

Davis Fall which is also called Patalo Chhango has a raging stream flowing here which comes from the lake Phewa and caves in and surges to a rock and then to a gorge. This is a famous tourist spot.

Guptshwor cave which is revered by people is two kilometers away from the Pokhara airport and has special meaning to the Hindus as Lord Shiva’s phallic symbol is preserved here.

Seti river gorge is a popular wonder of Pokhara which can be seen from the bridge in Mahendrapoo, Prithvi Highway and Bagar pool with raging river water and a deep gorge.

World Peace Stupa also called the Pokhara Shanti Stupa is a peace symbol which was created in Buddhist pagoda style. It is situated on the Ananda hill at 2100 meters. This spot has to offer the amazing sight of the Annapurna range, Fewa Lake, and the Pokhara city.

The Tibetan villages namely the Tashi Palkhel and Tashling village are popular for woolen carpets’ trade and production along with carpets and handicrafts. It is known that the first Tibetan settlers migrated to Nepal in this region during the 50s.

DAY 16

Return Kathmandu

We head back to Kathmandu in a seven hours’ bus ride or you can choose to fly back to Kathmandu via twenty minutes’ flight. The cost of tickets is $110 per individual usually (without markup). The prices vary and we should check the availability as well.

DAY 17

Free day at Kathmandu; departure

You can spend your time doing individual activities. If you decide on leaving Nepal, you will be transferred to the airport before your scheduled time; you will be accompanied by our representative at Ammonite adventure to the airport.
