Overview: Located in Udayapur’s Triyuga Municipality-13, Bahedwa Tharu Community Homestay, operated by Prabha Kumari Chaudhary and local women, offers an immersive Tharu cultural experience. Since opening in June 2021, it has transformed local lifestyles, with Chaudhary now focusing on preparing traditional Tharu dishes.
Cultural and Culinary Experiences:
Guests enjoy authentic Tharu cuisine, including bagiya and telpour roti. The homestay, which has hosted over 5,000 visitors, is expanding to include a hall and Tharu museum.
Accommodation and Amenities:
With 11 houses accommodating up to 60 guests, the homestay offers rooms at Rs 500 per night, with an extra Rs 300 for non-vegetarian meals. Traditional Tharu dance performances enhance the experience. Guests are welcomed with rice-based snacks.

Nearby attractions include Siddheshwar Mahadev Temple, Jogi Pokhari, and local parks, all within two kilometers.
Community Impact and Future Plans:
The homestay generates over Rs 500,000 annually and hosts 40 guests daily. Plans include expanding to 50 houses and building a hall and museum. The homestay also provides free eye checkups and educational programs.

Efforts are underway to attract international tourists to promote Tharu culture and boost Nepal’s tourism sector.
