With a total area of 2,542 km2, Sindhupalchok District is a part of Bagmati Province and one of Nepal's seventy-seven districts (981 sq mi). Chautara is the district's administrative centre. In 2006, 336,478 residents lived in 79 village planning councils, compared to 287,798 in 2011.

Tourism in Sindhupalchok District

Pilgrims flock to the district's cultural heritage sites, which include Nauling Shori Temple, Gaurati Bhimeshwor Temple, Tauthali Mai Temple, Sunkoshi Kafeshwar Mahadev Temple, Kshemadevi Temple, and Larke Ghyang.

Tatopani (Hot Water Spring) is a famous pilgrimage site near the China–Nepal border. Favourite trekking destinations with religious and cultural significance include Bhairav Kunda and Panch-Pokhari.

Nauling Shori Temple is located at the height of 2500 meters above sea level. And the most beautiful spot in Sindupalchok, which you can see from Jugalhimal, is close to Indrawati Municipality in Nawalpur.

Rafting is common on the Sun Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. Another draw is bungy jumping over the Bhote Koshi canal.

Despite being one of the least developed, this district has the potential to become one of the best tourism destinations in the country, attracting both domestic and foreign visitors. Langtang National Park, Langtang Himal, Jugal Himal, Panch Pokhari, Tato Pani, and Gaurati Bhimeswar are among the district's tourist attractions.

Infrastructure of Sindhupalchik District

Despite its proximity to Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, this district is one of the country's least developed. This district is connected to Tibet by the Arniko Highway, also known as the Kathmandu–Kodari Highway, which runs 114 kilometres (71 miles) from Kathmandu to Kodari. Mountainous and abundant in natural resources, the district is a great place to visit.

From Kathmandu, the district is easily accessible. Agriculture is the only source of income for most people. The land is not very fertile, and the yield is poor due to the district's hilly terrain. Almost every VDC has electricity and is connected to the highway by highways. Many non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) are operating in the district to improve living conditions.

This district is crossed by the Bhote Koshi, Indrawati, Sun Kosi, and Bramhayani rivers. Hydropower stations linked to the national grid include Sunkoshi Hydropower Station and Upper Bhotekoshi Hydropower Station. Both small and large hydroelectric power stations are being built in various locations.

Melchaur, Melamchi, and Bahrabise also have seven FM radio stations.

How was Sindhupalchok affected by the Earthquake of 2015?

The Sindhupalchok District's steep mountains and narrow roads hampered relief operations significantly. It took three hours for vehicles to come from Kathmandu. Residents were cut off from electricity and contact in the district, isolating them. 64,565 (96.8%) of the 66,688 houses in the district were burned.

As of August 23, 2015, more than 3,550 people had died in the district as a result of the earthquake, and thousands more had been injured, with 614 being sent to Kathmandu for treatment. About 40 people were pulled from the rubble, and over 3,000 people remain unaccounted for.

A UH-1Y is a helicopter. Six US Marines and two Nepalese soldiers were killed when a Huey helicopter carrying relief supplies crashed in Sindhupalchowk District, about eight miles north of Charikot.

Sindhupalchok in Education

Sindhupalchok has more than a half-dozen colleges that offer bachelor's degrees. There are more than 25 schools that have +2 degree services. The science course at the Chautara campus has only begun at the +2 level.

Within Sindhupalchok, each VDC usually has one or two high schools. Some of the most prestigious educational establishments include Chautara Campus, Thokarpa Community Campus, Sunkoshi Campus, and Jalbire Valley Campus. Chautara, Bahrabise, Kavre, and Kathmandu are the only places in Nepal where higher education is possible.
