Lamjung District is one of Nepal's 77 districts and is located in Gandaki Province. The district, which has its headquarters in Besisahar, has an area of 1,692 square kilometres (653 square miles) and has a population of 167,724.
Lamjung is located in Nepal's mid-hills, spanning tropical to trans-Himalayan geo-ecological regions and encompassing the country's geographical halfway (i.e., Duipipal). It is home to people of many castes and races. It has the country's most significant density of Gurung ethnic people.

Ghale Gaun
Ghale Gaun is a lovely village in Nepal's north-central region. There are mostly Gurung people that dwell there. This hamlet is known as the SAARC village tourist, which President Bidhya Devi Bhandari founded in 2017.
This village's residents are pretty gregarious and welcoming. They also welcome visitors and provide a family atmosphere. They greet guests with Tika and performance of Ghale Gaun-specific traditional dances and songs.
The Jhyaure, Dohori, Ghyabring, Serka, Ghantu, Krishna Charitra, and Jhakri are some of the village's traditional cultural dances. Moreover, they still played them with the pleasant sound of classic instruments on essential occasions. As a result, it is one of the most exciting locations to visit in Lamjung.
Baraha Pokhari
It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Lumjung, Nepal. It's a lovely pond with vibrant rhododendron plants. That is, we can see old stone stairs, a beautiful lake, and a temple on the lake's shore. It is surrounded by mountains like the Himachali, Boudha Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, Machhapuchhre, etc.
During the spring season, visitors may go around the lake and take in the breathtaking splendour of the rhododendron woodland. The location offers a welcoming, romantic, and beautiful view of nature.
The lake is historically significant. A Mela is held in the Baraha Pokhari every Spring and April on a full moon day. Visitors come here to clean their spirits by taking a plunge. They also worship the goddess Barahi, believing that she would grant their wishes.
Lamjung Durbar
It is one of Lumjung's most popular tourist attractions. The Lamjung Durbar is in Lamjung district's Gaunshahar VDC, ward number 4. King Yeshobramha Shah ruled this Palace. The location is ideal as a starting point for a short day hike. To put it another way, we can walk there in 2 hours from Besishahar.
This palace's doors and windows are rectangular in shape and black in colour. People congregate in the court, especially during the Dashain festival, to sacrifice animals.
The palace is also known for its stunning dawn and sunset views. Beautiful views of the Besishahar, Marshyangdi valley and various mountain summits can be seen from this durbar.
Hile Taksar
One of the great sites to visit in Lumjung is Hile Taksar. The Lamjung District in northern-central Nepal is one of the VDCs (Village Development Committees). This location is a three-hour hike from Phaliyasangu.
A spectacular 360-degree panorama of the hills, towns, Dordi, and Marshyangdi valleys can be seen. Lamjung Himal, Boudha Himal, Annapurna II, Dr Harka Peak, Himalchuli, Manaslu, and other lesser peaks may also be seen from here.
Purankot
Purankot is one of Lumjung's most popular tourist destinations. It is situated in the Lumjung district's Duradanda VDC. It is home to 2135 people who live in 430 different families. The river Kirenche runs through the east, the Paudi River runs through the south, and Chadreswar Village runs through the west.
In the hamlet of Archalyani, there are four elementary schools and one high school called Sanskriti Sadan. Purankot played a crucial role in establishing the first Shah ruler in the lower Lamjung against the Ghale Rajas from the upper Lamjung.
It is the birthplace of the Gurung people. Tourists come to trek between these lovely settlements, which provide spectacular views of the Annapurna mountain range. Effect of 2015's Earthquake
On April 25, 2015, an earthquake struck near Lamjung District, with the epicentre in Lamjung. The majority of the significant damage and deaths occurred in Nepal's capital, Kathmandu. Over 8,800 people have died as a result of the disaster. In Lamjung District, however, just four deaths were reported.
Lamjung was the district in Nepal with the 20th highest number of deaths, though it was seriously devastated. Ilampokhari, Kolki, Bichaur, Gauda, Dudhpokhari, and Pyarjung villages were the most hit.
