The highlight of the Ghorepani Poonhill trek journey is the early morning hike to the great Poonhill, a renowned viewpoint that lies at an altitude of 3,210 meters. Starting before dawn, trekkers move with headlamps, eagerly waiting for the definite sunrise. As the first light breaks, the view is also nothing short of magical. Snow-capped peaks such as Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Nilgiri are bathed in impressive golden, making a mesmerising panorama that lingers in all of memory. This moment alone defines the full trek, drawing thousands of visitors every year. Descending through the Ghorepani, the trail will lead all through Tadapani and Ghandruk, offering all through the opportunities to immerse in nature and culture. The trek ends back through Nayapul, leaving trekkers with several memories of tall peaks, picturesque landscapes, and warm local interactions. The Ghorepani Poonhill trek is also best undertaken in spring (March-May) or autumn (September-November), when the weather is very clear and the views are at their best.
