Rolpa is a heaven district located in the mid-western part of Nepal. It is famous for its beautiful landscape, hills and happy communities. In the Mahabharat range of the Himalayas, Rolpa has diverse communities, valleys, hills and rivers. The district is green with elevation from 600 meters to above 3700 meters making it a perfect place for travelers and nature lovers. This district is important as it is the birthplace of the deadly Maoist rebellion, which started in the late 1990s. The conflict has affected the lives of the local community in the best or worst way, so there has been an economic and social transformation. Despite all the challenges during that time, the Rolpa people believe in identity and community unity. Rolpha is also home to many ethnic people like Tamang, Tharu and the proud Magar community. Each community contributes to the district's heritage through its traditions and festivals. Magar society is famous for its colourful dance and folk song and music. Big festivals like Dashain and Tihar are celebrated, and families and communities celebrate these festivals full of joy and laughter.
