Lamjung is a historically significant district on the central side of the Gandaki province of Nepal. It is well known for its history, cultural richness, and brilliant landscapes. It takes around 1,692 square km and is sandwiched between two mighty mountains, Manaslu and Annapurna mountains. It is a haven to the famous Annapurna Circuit route, making it an excellent place for adventure travel. The district is surrounded by Gorkha in the eastern part, Manang in the northern part, Kaski in the western part and Tanahun in the southern part of Nepal.Lamjung is a perfect place for history buffs as this place is called an ancestor homeland of the Shah dynasty, who later went to unify Nepal. King Narabhupal Shah, the father of great Prithvi Narayan, reigned over Lamjung before going on a campaign to unite the petty states of Nepal into a singular country. The historical importance of Lamjung is seen in the deserted places and torn-down forts like Rainaskot and Lamjung Durbar. Such sites and the district's cultural importance make Lamjung an ideal place for interest for several trekkers and historians.
