This city's well-known landmarks are the Golden Temple, also known as Hiranya Varana Mahavir and Mahaboudha. The city is well known worldwide and is called the City of Refined Arts as it has a history of pottery, metal works, and exquisite craftsmanship. The major inhabitants or settlers of Lalitpur are Newars. Newars are a race of proud people who are known for their language, exotic culture, and vibrant festivals. The city comes to full life and glows in splendours during festive occasions like Rato Machhindranath. Lalitpur, a hub of rich Nepalese culture, is also a hotspot for the learning and tourism industries. Although Lalitpur has all the modern amenities that any city can ask for, yet this city has been able to hold its traditional look and charm, mixing old with the brand new.
