Kaski is one of the major districts in central Nepal, well recognised for its incredible natural beauty and significant passage away to Annapurna Mountain. It is also one of the main parts of the Gandaki region and home to the famous Nepalese city of Pokhara, one of the major tourist hubs. The district covers around 2017 sq. meters and is surrounded by Lamjung, Parbat, Manang, and Tanahun. The north side of Kaski is engulfed by Annapurna Mountain, which includes the world's major mountainous peaks, such as Machapuchare (6993 m) and Annapurna I (8091 m). Machapuchare is popularly known as Fishtail Mountain as a result of its unique shape. The climate at Kaski depends on the altitude. The low valley has a subtropical climate and higher altitudes have a chilly feel to it and are more temperate. Pokhara, situated at 827 meters above sea level, has a mild climate, making it an excellent destination for all tourists and visitors. Pokhara, Kaski district's biggest city and administrative area, is one of the top draws for foreigners and tourists in this region. It is also the second biggest city and is often cited as one of the loveliest cities in Nepal. It lies beside the famous Phewa Lake and the city has stunning views of the Machapuchare and Annapurna mountain ranges. Pokhara is well remembered for the lakeside and is clustered with several fancy restaurants, hotels, and shops catering to foreign and national tourists. The city also serves as the beginning point for many famous routes like Annapurna Circuit trek and Annapurna Base Camp. It is a treasure for those seeking adventure sports, including zip-lining, paragliding, white water rafting, and mountain biking.
